Abstract

The invention of photography and the possibility of reproducing images mechanically was a crucial moment of the modern era: innovative and disturbing at the same time. Photography and other inventions contributed to changing radically the modes of human representation and communication, the very parameters within which substance and form are given to the imaginary, to the structures of human perception and to the rhetorical structures of all human languages and modes of communication.
