Abstract

Tabucchi's two detectives, Rouxinol and Spino, are seeking a link by engaging in the tireless work of deciphering their double landscape. In different ways the detectives seem finally to recognise and attain this link in an unprecedented time-space, a new landscape which is the sum of their experiences acquired during their journey, of the elaboration executed on the memory and awareness of a previous life which is not necessarily our own. This is why in the end the frame of the two stories becomes smaller, or even disappears.
