Towards a study of dream in Antonio Tabucchi

Abstract

Dream in Tabucchi's work has not always played the role that it has progressively assumed in his latest books. Tracing its development thus means referring to certain stages which have marked its evolution from being a single theme or "ingredient" among others into being a wholly original and novel narrative mode. A course is charted which leads from the first novel to Requiem, taking in as its midpoint Il filo dell'orizzonte.
